Whites Tree Frog Care Sheet

Whites Tree Frogs are the frog I know most about because I own one hehe. His name is Mr. Smiley and is one of the cuttest frogs ever. The picture below is not him because i do not have a digital camara yet. But I found this picture and it looks a lot like him.

Description:

Whites tree frogs average 4-5 inches long from nose to vent. They can tend to get fat. There skin can become folded which means your frog is too fat. They can also change color frog green to brown. Nobody knows why, it could be because they are stressed, there mood or any thing else. Whites tree frogs can also look like they are smiling which got them the nickname Smiling frog. There other nickname is dumpy frog because of their looks.

Habitat:

Whites Tree Frogs are a vey good beginner frog because they do not need much care put them in a 20 gallon terrarium.

Substrate: use bark that is found in your local pet store. If you have a petco near you try and find a block that says forest floor on it. That is what I use for my tree frog.

Water: get a median size water dish for you frog because it will like to sit in it at night.

For foliage use the plants from the pet store. NEVER use the plants from Micheal's that is cleaned with soup that can be harmful to the frog.

For climbing get a piece of driftwood from your local pet store. At night your frog will use every thing in that cage

Feeding:

Whites diet is not complicated. They tend to like crickets the most but also like other things, for example they also like moths, house flys, even when they get bigger picky mice. Don't feed them too much or they will become extremely fat. First the archs above there ears will start to cover there ears, then the archs about there eyes will start to cover there eyes which can result in blindless. If that starts to happen your frog needs to go on a diet.

Facts:

The Whites tree frogs come from Australia and Indonesia. They can also live up to 20 years in captivity. There is no sure way to tell if your frog is a boy or girl. First of all they should be about 1 or 2 years old. At that age the male frogs get nuptil pad on their front palms and only males croak. To here a Whites Tree Frog click on the link below.
